A Short Bio

English:

From 1990 to 1994, James Jao was appointed by Former New York City Mayor David Dinkins to the New York City Planning Commission (CPC). In addition, he holds the great distinction of being the first Asian American Commissioner during the 360-year history of New York City as well as the youngest one, as well as the sole commissioner who holds an architectural license.

He is a certified architect by NCARB, and registered architect in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Massachusetts, and California in USA, as well as PRC. He is also a Certified Foreign Expert by SAFEA (State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs) in Planning and Economic Development, and a Steering Committee Member of UN Habitat 2009-2012.

Mr. Jao is also working as consultant to 33 cities and provinces throughout China.

In the speech, Mr.Jao will introduce the Chinese 3 Star Green Building Rating and Certification System by the Ministry of Housing, Urban and Rural Development (MoHURD), the Definition of Chinese Green Building and the Relevant Standards, the Evaluation System of Chinese Green Building, the Chinese Governmental Strategies on Low Carbon Green Building, the Value of Green Building and its further advancement.
