DESIGN SUMMARY
The complexity of the project results from the delicacy of the subject which is loaded with cultural values and technical specificities imposed by study reasons and by exigencies of preservation of finds. Therefore it is a matter of a particular building with a symbolic meaning.
We have staked on the originality of the idea, on the cultural content and on the intrinsic value of a collection that justifies a project which helps to give a cultural, scientific and communicative value and to keep it alive.
The museum is considered as a suitable place for studies and for the cultural training of the public, offering the visitor a primary role.
The museum links the daily life with the local tradition through the documents of the cultural patrimony scattered over the territory. The presence of these evidences creates the conditions for a museum both ideologically and physically open to the territory. The idea is that of a museum where reality can experience outdoor.
The archaeological areas scattered in a unitary context but perceivable as part of an environmental unit, lead to a visit centre (museum) where they are linked both by visit itineraries (routes) and by educational media (audiovisual aids) which offer the visitor a more careful knowledge of the place.
The museum has been imagined as central hinge and link of surrounding functions and this choice defines its fitting in the environment as a factor that is in some measures reversible and that is in dialectical connection with the nearby archaeological site and with the surrounding historical and landscape emergencies.
