Hanoi New Town, the Well Connected City
Both the network of roads and the public transport system will be developed as equal alternatives to maximise mobility. It will ensure efficient circulation and connection to the existing city of Hanoi and the Hanoi region.

Hanoi New Town, District Centres and Villages
The canal network will get a finer mesh, where district centres are located. The concept for the Hanoi New Town is flexible concerning the incorporation of the villages. It will respond to historic value, need, economy for each village individually.
Generally villages are considered as sites with a different structure. The building substance can be transformed.
A few transformed villages will be connected by low density development and can link to a district centre, forming a secondary slow traffic network.
Hanoi New Town, Programs of an Urban City
The Hanoi New Town will become meaningful to the entire Hanoi region by the implementation of several important, representative and symbolic programs.
The important symbolic link between the existing city of Hanoi and the origin of Vietnam’s capital is reflected in the cultural corridor from the West Lake to Co Loa.
Hanoi New Town, the Dong Anh Central District
The Dong Anh Central District consists of the Riverfront District, the Central Business District and District 6.
A new levee delineates the Riverfront District from the Red River. Being conceived as a chain of different islands, its programmatic diversity is expressed: resort, research, sports.
The CBD is clearly distinguished as a central part of the New Town, being influenced by the general strip pattern, but maintaining it own identity.
District 6, with mainly residential and related program, exemplifies the diverse way, in which the strip pattern can be interpreted.
